Sunday Daybook

14 Nov

Outside my window…
Crisp sunshine and mulched leaves. I can also see my neighbor shopvacing his yard to remove leaves!

I am thankful for…
Community who prays when I’m having a terrible day.

From the kitchen…
It’s a disaster! I really need to get it in order to begin preparing for Thanksgiving.

I am wearing…
Jeans and a cozy pullover gray sweater.

I am going…
To take the kids out for our traditional Sunday afternoon date. Not sure yet where that will be, though.

I am hoping…
That Miles’ sleep turns around.

One of my favorite things…
Cold, raw cookie dough. Chocolate chip, of course.

A few plans for the upcoming week…
Get the oven fixed! It died on Friday and we MUST have it repaired before the holiday! The true highlight, though, is my friend Margi who is arriving on Friday from England. She’s coming to spend Thanksgiving with us and I can hardly wait.

Mixer

This baby mixer arrived in the mail on Friday. It’s amazing how little gestures of thoughtfulness offer such boosts of encouragement to get through a rough day.

Outside my window…

Outside the window

I am thinking…
That today is going to be long (due to the time change) and planning on how to make it as bearable as possible.

I am thankful for…
A family I can laugh with. Last night’s laughing fest just before bed was so wonderful.

From the kitchen…
I discovered I need potatoes. It’s looking like a 5lb bag will no longer hold us for a week.

I am creating…
Concepts for the Food + Foto class I joined. I can’t wait to show off my creations!

I am hoping…
That this upcoming week is as enjoyable as last week.

I am hearing…
Miles’ little feet patting around the living room as he dances to music in his head.

Around the house…
Things look like a tasmanian devil blew through. Friday was a rough day for me and the house still hasn’t quite recovered.

One of my favorite things…
Snuggling my girl child, like I am right this very minute. She’s becoming very independent and physical snuggles or hugs are always have to be her idea now.

Daddy's Arms

This time last year. 🙂

Outside my window…
The sun is just beginning to highlight the sky in the palest of blue

I am thinking…
We need a new dustpan. The current one finally cracked beyond use and the cat just knocked a glass off the dining room table. I have it all swept into a pile but no way to safely deposit it into the trash.
I guess a trip to Walmart or Target is in order.

I am thankful for…
Aaron having a steady and reliable job that meets our needs. Even a few wants. It is so easy to take for granted knowing exactly, down to the penny, what his paycheck will be every other Friday.

From the kitchen…
The most AMAZING roasted cauliflower. The kids went to bed ten minutes late last night because Aaron was standing over the pan and eating it with his fingers after dinner. Recipe to come tomorrow.

I am wearing…
Gray pajama bottoms and a black top. I’m half way between getting ready to leave the house.

I am creating…
That never ending red Coat o’ Doom.
I simply cannot bring myself to talk about it.

I am reading…
Simplicity Parenting. I’m taking it slow, absorbing concepts and trying to come up with ideas how to impliment the concepts in out home.

I am hoping…
for answers to questions this week.

A few plans for the rest of the week…
Tomorrow, NaBloPoMo starts so I am going to try and get ideas flowing for posts. Posting something every single day seems daunting but if I could do it last year with a new born AND being out of town, I can do it again this year. There’s also a ton of sewing I need to accomplish this week. Thankfully my friend and I are in a babysitting trade, so she is coming over on Thursday to watch the kiddos while I slip away upstairs to sew.
